Stake Presidency Message

From the Mount Vernon Stake Presidency

Jesus Christ stands at the center of everything we do as a stake. Our worship, our service, and our family life all flow from our love for Him and our desire to follow His example. As we strive together to “come, follow me,” we invite every member and neighbor to draw nearer to the Savior.

The gospel teaches that no failure is final and that God does not abandon us, but works through us. If God can redeem and restore each of His children, He can redeem and restore you and me. Some sufferings are known by many, but most are known only by God—and the Savior is eager to reach us in those moments with His grace, to rescue and redeem at all cost.

We testify that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. As we make and keep covenants with our Heavenly Father, we are entitled to His power and His peace. We invite you to worship with us, to serve alongside us, and to find joy in following Him.

His Ministry Gave Us the Perfect Example

Jesus’s example is one of pure love. He showed us how to love God by striving to do His will above all else. He compassionately healed the sick, fed the hungry, cared for the poor, welcomed the outcast, and ministered to all who faithfully sought Him out. You can have faith that the Savior extends that same love and compassion to you.

“True disciples of Jesus Christ are willing to stand out, speak up, and be different from the people of the world.”

— Russell M. Nelson
